How Does MAThread® Perform
MAThread® eliminates all seizing and jamming of fasteners from the most common problems, period. This usually results in an immediate end to ongoing assembly issues. This result has been demonstrated in the most difficult, highest volume automotive assembly operations, where thousands of serious, costly problems have just disappeared after MAThread® was introduced. In addition to solving almost all problems, MAThread® makes resolving the rare few remaining problems much, much easier. For example, when MAThread® is not used, the assembly plant experiencing a problem must sort through a myriad of possible causes before resolving it. This process is usually difficult and tedious. With MAThread®, however, should a nut-thread quality issue occur, or dirt or obstruction in the thread cause a jamming failure, the assembly plant can immediately rule out cross-threading, false-threading, and/or paint problems as possible causes of the problem. That makes it much easier to focus on the real issue, which is no longer disguised by other possible failures. Such a quality problem is usually quickly solvable once it’s identified.
Types of Fasteners
“P” Point MAThread
Use in difficult applications when point clearance is not an issue. Should also be used with thick stack-ups of multiple components.

Custom MAThread
Design Criteria for parts used in special applications. Please contact MAThread for design help!

MATPoint
For use in most applications. Do not use when prying heavy components into place during installation - use a 'Dog point' MAThread instead.

Very Short MAThread
Use only in applications where point clearance is a problem and angular mis-alignment is limited. Note that this part may very rarely jam if installed at over 8 deg. angular misalignment.

Dog Point MAThread
Use in any very difficult application or when prying components into place during installation.

Never-Jam™ MAThread
For use in applications where packaging length and/or weight is a concern. This design is effective up to and including 12 degrees misalignment. Note that our specially-designed lead thread provides improved performance when assembling to internal threads that are roll-form tapped (fish-mouth, a.k.a. crest-crater conditions). If 100% effectiveness is required, be sure to specify one of our full dog-point designs.

Industry Uses
Automotive
MAThread® fasteners have a proven track record throughout the automotive industry for reducing costs by eliminating reworks caused by cross threading, and labor time associated with hand starting. It is a standard at GM, Chrysler, Mercedes Benz, Volvo, and VW. It is also widely used by car and truck manufacturers worldwide.

Construction
News of breakthroughs in the fastener industry travels fast as prevention and avoidance of assembly problems and operator fatigue become a high priority. Just like the automotive industry, the construction industry provides a market for the MAThread® products because they are not sensitive to assembly tool speed; they correct off-angle installations, and improve operator ergonomics by reducing repetitive stress.

Electronics
Mass production is a necessity in today’s large and diverse market segment for electronics. Manufacturers worldwide are using MAThread® products to eliminate assembly problems and lower costs in a highly competitive industry.

Heavy Equipment
Success stories on lowering costs for auto makers helped to launch MAThread® product usage into the Heavy Equipment Industry. Today there are millions of MAThread® products used by Heavy Equipment manufacturers to fix costly assembly problems.

Motorcycles
Large or small, if assembly requires an externally threaded fasteners the MAThread® products offer a competitive advantage by eliminating costly reworks.

Recreational Vehicles
No matter if the externally threaded fastener is used to assemble an automobile or a large or small recreational vehicle, the MAThread® products cannot be cross threaded or jammed during assembly operations. Manufacturers of recreational vehicles have embraced the patented technology to reduce their costs.

Water Craft
Assembly of large ships, small boats, and even jet skis now utilize MAThread® products. Elimination of assembly failures, repairs, scrap, downtime and warranty service have driven the use of MAThread® fasteners at a phenomenal rate.
